Pembroke Street Office Refurbishment

Constructed in the 1950’s as the headquarters for the Commissioners for Irish Lights, we were tasked with designing the refurbishment of the existing 2,700 sq.m building, with various interventions, to create high-class but unique office accommodation: the old concrete structure was to be opened up and left exposed, original brass windows and terrazzo stairs with 1950’s detailing refurbished.

Pre-construction design development was highly progressed, with tender stage complete, before a change of ownership forced a halt to the project. We have since obtained planning permission for the new owners for two options for redevelopment: a 102-bedroom hotel, or a new-build and greatly enlarged office development of 5,600 sq.m.
