Rath Lodge is a development of 198 dwellings, designed specifically to provide a range of house types and sizes to suit a wide variety of needs and budgets.

A large proportion of the dwellings are “courtyard” type: all principal rooms surround, have view of, and directly access the rear garden which, by careful control of adjacent first floor windows, is a totally private space; the single-storey wing allows the sun to penetrate the garden whilst maintaining privacy. These are wide-frontage houses, but site depths are shallower than the norm, so that a comparable residential density is achieved.
